

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
Abonnema Foundation as a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization is a leading voice and catalyst for innovative solutions to Abonnema communities’ most challenging problems.
Our Mission, vision and Values reflect our commitment to serve our marginalized and under developed community. Founded in 2004 by committed and generous Son’s and Daughters of Abonnema in the United States of America who wanted to give back to the community, Abonnema Foundation is a partner and resource to organizations looking to improve the quality of life in the Abonnema community and the Niger Delta region of Nigeria at-large.
We endeavor to partner with Individuals, families, corporations, nonprofit and government organizations, and community leaders who will work with us to address critical needs and make an impact through effective programs and inspired philanthropy.
The foundation has established a tradition of generosity and excellence that has led many people to invest their time and philanthropic dollars to support our projects.

THE BYLAWS
We, the members of the ABONNEMA FOUNDATION living in
the United States of America, and elsewhere, have satisfied the requirements of membership,
all as defined hereinafter (and hereinafter referred to as Registered Members), in the
Abonnema Foundation hereinafter referred to as AF or FOUNDATION), a not-forprofit
organization legally organized in the State of Texas on the 15th Day of the month of
April in the year 2004, adopt the bylaws for the governance of the organization:
PREAMBLE
WHEREAS REGISTERED MEMBERS is desirous to organize and operate, as and at all times,
exclusively for charitable, educational, cultural, social, economical, scientific and technological
purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the
corresponding Section of any future Federal Tax Code;
WHEREAS REGISTERED MEMBERS in recognition of widespread poverty and lack of financial capital for the implementation of community charitable projects is desirous to provide opportunities to pool resources to promote the legitimate charitable, social, cultural,
educational, scientific and technological and economic interests and advancement of the
Abonnema Community;
WHEREAS REGISTERED MEMBERS in recognition of the lack of infrastructure and enabling environment for the Abonnema Community development is desirous of providing the enabling environment for the development, supervision, and implementation of social and economic programs and infrastructure for the general benefit of the Abonnema Community and other communities;
WHEREAS REGISTERED MEMBERS is desirous of creating environments to address, provide relief, and seek redress on all issues of importance on behalf of the general Abonnema Community, both in the United States and elsewhere;
WHEREAS REGISTERED MEMBERS is desirous of providing a vehicle for organizing and
supervising, alone or jointly, with other organizations or groups of individuals activities for
public opinion evaluation and for the purpose of creating political, economic, general health
and welfare awareness, and thereby foster the growth of goodwill amongst communities;
WHEREAS REGISTERED MEMBERS desires to liaise or collaborate with international, national,or local groups, organizations, or associations to foster and promote unity of purpose, social, cultural, scientific and technological, educational and economic interests and advancement for our mutual benefits; and
WHEREFORE the REGISTERED MEMBERS makes and ordains these Bylaws for the governance of the Abonnema Foundation of which we are the primary benefactors.
ABOUT THE ABONNEMA FOUNDATION GUIDE
Who We Are: Founded in 2004, the Abonnema Foundation is recognized as the advocate for our community and its people. Our members believe in the strong bond which the community provides and liaise or collaborate with individuals, organizations-both private and public to pool resources to promote our legitimate charitable, social, cultural, educational, scientific/technological, and economic interests and advancement.
Our Aims: The Abonnema Foundation motto: “for Community Goodwill and Action” aims to:
•Reduce poverty and disease;
•Provide the enabling platform to promote unity of purpose;
•Provide a vehicle for organizing and supervising, alone or jointly activities for public opinion evaluation and for the purpose of creating political, economic, general health and welfare awareness; and
•Provide enabling environment to address, provide relief and seek redress on all issues of importance on behalf of the general members of our Community.
The Abonnema Foundation main office is in Houston, Texas and we maintain offices in other Abonnema community facilities worldwide. We are legally organized as a State of Texas nonprofit corporation for 501[C][3] charitable tax-exempt purposes in the USA.
Our Vision: The vision of Abonnema Foundation is a well-run organization for Community Goodwill and Action, where all members attain their highest charitable potential.
Our Mission: To advance the educational, cultural, social, scientific/technological, economic and healthy well-being of the Abonnema community through an accountable and committed membership and a skillful proactive Board of Directors.
Membership: Membership is open only to persons who have attained the age of majority. Applicants are admitted to membership on making application in writing, approval of the application by the Executive Board of Directors, and upon payment of an initial registration fee and required annual dues, as specified by the resolutions of the Board of Directors and/or our Bylaws. Abonnema Foundation does not discriminate based on age, sex, color, race or national origin in the granting of services or benefits.
The Abonnema Foundation welcomes the opportunity to liaise and/or collaborate with other local, national or international organizations and as such grants honorary membership to members of other organizations who have contributed to its viability, upon approval by the Board of Directors. The general public is hereby encouraged to support Abonnema Foundation as members, contributors and /or sponsors.
